Do you show your spouse grace? Grace, according to authors Tim and Darcy Kimmel, is giving someone what they desperately need, but don’t especially deserve. FamilyLife speakers Tim and Darcy know what it means to give and receive grace, and share some grace moments from their own marriage. Tim and Darcy also define love as “the commitment of my will to your needs and best interest, regardless of the cost,” and talk about the three driving inner needs we hope to satisfy in marriage: security, significance, and strength.
Darcy Kimmel has a heart for encouraging and equipping parents and grandparents to maximize their unique callings in life with the Grace Based Parenting model for relationships. Her greatest joy comes from her own family and relationships.
Darcy speaks at marriage and parenting events with her husband Tim. She loves to provide help for parents through the Grace Based Parenting materials, including single parents and blended families. As a writer, Darcy is co-author of several books on parenting, grandparenting and family relationships. Darcy gives parenting advice and helpful family tools in a regular column she writes for the Family Matters Blog.
Darcy and Tim have a passion for family and together founded Family Matters, a ministry dedicated to “equipping families for every age and stage of life”. Darcy and Tim love to show parents and couples how to apply God's grace to their marriages and parenting skills.
Darcy and Tim Kimmel were high school sweethearts and have been married for over 40 years. They count their four children, their children’s spouses and their ever expanding group of grandchildren among their greatest earthly blessings.
Dr. Tim Kimmel is the founder and Executive Director of Family Matters, whose goal is to see families transformed by God’s grace into instruments of reformation and restoration. Tim and Family Matters conduct the Grace Based Parenting Conference across the country on the unique pressures that confront members of today's families.
He and his wife, Darcy, also team up with other organizations such as FamilyLife, Focus on the Family and MOPS to build strong families. With his dry wit and engaging humor, Tim is also a regular guest on many nationally syndicated radio and TV programs, providing expert analysis on current issues related to parenting, families and marriage. In addition to speaking, Tim has authored many books including: Grace Based Parenting, Raising Kids for True Greatness and most recently, Connecting Church and Home. Tim hosts the Family Matters Minute, a daily one minute radio spot where he encourages and equips parents to bring the best out of their families.
Tim and Darcy are the parents of four children and reside in Scottsdale, Arizona.
