Businessman John Stanley, creator of the Generosity Gameplan®, recalls his upbringing and the thrifty stepfather who taught him how to live a generous life. Stanley believes many of us aren’t more generous because we measure generosity by how much money we give away, rather than seeing ourselves as a funnel God can use to bless others. Stanley reminds us we all need to be generous with the three currencies we possess: relational currency, our strengths and talents, and our resources.
John Stanley is the creator of the Generosity Gameplan®, a process designed to awaken a new way to be generous, to go beyond making a difference and instead create real change. His book Connected for Good: A Gameplan For a Generous Life is for anyone of means and substance, especially couples who long to build a generous future together by creating their own Generosity Gameplan.
Some of the nation's most generous families and the nonprofits they care deeply about are served by The Legacy Group, a consulting and management firm he founded in 1999. John is a philanthropist himself giving through and serving his family's foundation as a trustee.
He has a keen understanding of the role that strong families and healthy marriages play in creating a hope-filled next generation and a sustainable social and economic American landscape.
John’s 30+ year marriage to his wife Jamee has launched them into serving actively in their Parish marriage ministry. He also serves on the Boards of Relationships First, Institute for Family Studies, Leadership Network and Nativity Jesuit Middle School. John and Jamee are developing Wyndridge Vineyard in western Wisconsin and staying involved in the aspirations of their adult children, Karen and Micah.
