Good Friday: The Joy Set Before Him

There was a day when my wife and I were told by doctors that our 12-year-old son was about to die. I can assure you I did not face that moment with joy. The writer of Hebrews in the Bible says to look to Jesus, "the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross..." Where was the joy in enduring the cross? On this Good Friday, let's remember that Jesus looked past his suffering to the day when he would be glorified at his Father's side. Worship and praise him.
